“Oh, hello, hello! I welcome you! Please welcome me! I am Gigi. I’m told that, once upon a time, someone made a film about me – that’s how much of a special girl I am. Sweet special, me!”
“’What miracle has made you the way you are?’ That was the song about me in the film! How about that?” It’s not just that I am beautiful – which I am, all brown with deep shadows and delicate white feet. Someone told me I look rather like a Maynard Dixon painting of some remote canyon in late afternoon. I could tell that was a real compliment. And – I am much less expensive than a Maynard Dixon painting. Much, much less.”
“Oh, yes, what else is so miraculous about me? I am sweet special. I love laps. I even rather like it when you carry me as if I were a people baby, showing off my exquisite feet. And I purr. Now, don’t get carried away – don’t dangle me upside down or something. Just love, love, love on me. I am Gigi. I’m old enough to know myself – and young enough to get a little silly – about 3 or 4 years, I think.”
I have to tell you something. I am not the least bit interested in going boldly where no sensible cat would go. Yes, I lived with Lewis and Clark for a few years, and I wouldn’t mind living with them again. But this explorer stuff – tents and canoes and camps and swamps and beavers? No, thank you! Gigi is a city girl. Gigi likes soft cushions and warm people and well-prepared food. Gigi likes you!
Yes, I’ve a squeaky, innocent girl voice, very much like the original Gigi in the film. Did you know that the cat in that film didn’t like the actress who played Gigi? I’m full of trivia like that! Mostly, though, I am just full of beautiful sweet special kittygirlness, and I would love to sit in your lap! For just $100, I’ll sit in your lap forever. It would be OK if you brought $200 and took one of the explorer boys with us – or even $300 for our whole tribe. Our former people were good to us, but off they went, so here we are. Here I am. I am Gigi. Make sure you notice me!
PS: I currently reside at THE ADOPTION CENTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
