“Eek! Eek! I try to do ‘meow’ but what comes out is ‘eek’. I’m Kachina. I am sweet, small, and I say ‘Eek’ to get your attention, to get you to notice my fluffy tortie girl self. Eek!”
Let me tell you about Kachina. A kachina represents a usually powerful spiritual being among the people of the Hopi Nation. Now I’m not a Hopi cat, but I do have solid Native American connections. I lived among the Anishinaabe people in northern Minnesota. Red Lake Rosie, she’s famous for rescuing cats (and dogs, too), suggested I come south to find myself some people who could and would give me my real home.
Here I am – waiting for that real home. Notice that I look like a kachina – a face half sun, half moon – half yin, half yang – representing balance and wholeness – and all-around stunning catness. I bring my spirit powers with me, blending light and dark, making me decorative and warm and affectionate and pretty much all of what you might want from a lovely young cat.
Here I am, showing off how beautiful and amusing I am when I run. And you thought all I could do was sit and purr and nuzzle your hand and say, “Eek!” Wrong. Whee! Around the room I go – here, there, everywhere. Please do not giggle about my short legs – they may be short, but they know how to move. Notice that those short legs – and the attached feet – are solid black – really black. My night side that contrasts so well with the day side of my face.
Your life will go smoothly when you join forces with this young well-balanced and quite spiritual girl cat. Kachina sees herself as more a girl than a lady. Ladies don’t scuttle across the floor and play soccer, and Kachina likes to do that. How about bringing this delightful tortie a new ball to chase? How about $100 for Feline Rescue so it can provide room and board for the next young fluffy to which Red Lake Rosie says, “Go south, young cat, go south.”
PS: I currently reside at THE ADOPTION CENTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
