Handsome orange dude

“Yes, indeed, I am absolutely as handsome as you think I am. I am the handsome orange dude. Handsome Orange Dude. Very Handsome. Very Orange. However, what earned me the role of the next James Bond, over the likes of Brad Pitt, is my unique set of grey, white, and black whiskers, perfectly set into my manly orange face. I’ll not be playing hobbits in Hollywood, no, never. Just dynamic heroes for whom ladies swoon – James Bond, Indiana Jones. Ah, me, I am fabulous.”

Tanner, despite his fame and stardom, loves people. He purrs, he charms, he looks into our eyes and says, “I am irresistible.” That he is. Tanner loves food and unusual toys. Standard cat fare – sparkly mice and such – how mundane. But a Buzz Lightyear doll that squeaks? Tanner thinks it needs some work – handsome Orange Dude cat work.

One thing Tanner hates: paparazzi! “Don’t even think about putting that camera in my face! I saw those other cats come out and preen and pose for you. Not Tanner. I’m not doing it. I have been on the cover of People, never mind Cat Fancy. Enough, I say, enough.”

“I’m seeking an appropriate new and permanent home for a star such as I. How about nine bedrooms, seven baths, thousands of square feet, right on the beach at Malibu? Oh – all you’ve got is a one-bedroom apartment in Richfield, one bath, 900 square feet, and no beach? Is the food good? OK, I’ll take it. You come with it, right? Stars get lonely, too. Lonely at the top, as they say.”

How about Tanner? How about permanent adoption? He’s a method actor, never stops interpreting with his facial expressions, always telling stories. Stop in at Feline Rescue. Ask for Handsome Orange Dude. Swoon. Bring $120. Take Tanner home. Swoon more. Tanner is the Dude, the Guy, the Cat.
