Girl, Orange - Deep in Thought

“Guess what I am? Only one guess! Yes! You win the prize. I’m an Orange Cat! There’s only one real surprise about me – I’m a Girl Orange Cat. People tell me that most Orange Cats are guys. That makes me rare – which I would be, anyway, because I’m a “still waters run deep” girl. I don’t make a lot of noise, not terribly interested in rooting about with the Boy Orange Cat next door. He does enough rooting about for both of us!”

A few facts, such as I know them: I’ve been living outside for several months in a neighborhood that was good to me, but no one took me in and said, “We love you.” I must have once had an official home because my front claws are gone – which made doing the outdoors gig a pretty tough life. You may still see some gang signs carved into my nose by a band of tough tabbies who called themselves the Mackerels. The signs are fading, but I remember. I remember. And I want to go home!

I want to go home! Home is where I belong. Home is what you have for me. I am soft, highly interested in people who pet me, and looking for laps. I do like this black watch plaid bed. I knead it and knead it more. Its deep green and blue and black complements my Orange Fur so well, don’t you think? Perhaps when you take me home, you would have a blankie like this to show me off – show how truly Orange I am?

I want to go home with you! Home with you is where I belong. I hope for cuddling and kindness and good food and warm space. Never more out of doors! Never more the Mackerels! $120 will nicely cover my stay here at Feline Rescue. I’ll hug you if you’ll bring it soon.
