Friendly, Soft, Reasonably Dignified

“Hi, hi, hello! We are Tommy Tom and Butch Cassidy, and we are brothers. We are young, sturdy, and not nearly so wild as our names might suggest, although if you’d like to hand us that bumblebee toy with the crackly wings….” What happened to The Sundance Kid? Try asking Tommy Tom if that’s his real name or if, maybe, he’s traveling under an alias. Sometimes that’s a good idea, you know.

We think we’re about six months old, and we think we remember that we were born outside. It was summer then, but still….not an easy place to be when you’re a tiny baby kitty who can’t even really see. But we made it. We’re here. You’re here, and we’d like to show you our talents, our style.

“I’m the spokesman for our team, I’m Tommy Tom. I stretch myself out and give you my best “am I not just adorable?” look. I pose long and strong, all legs, showing my talent for the next season of Project Runway. No, I don’t design – I just show off. And I’m good at it – white fur in all the right places, grey fur where it should also be.”

“We are quiet, most of the time, and reasonably dignified, unless, of course, there is a good reason not to be – like toys, really good crunchies, and catnip. Ooops! I forgot – we’re not supposed to talk about catnip. Butch Cassidy, my dear thoroughly orange tabby brother, is more quiet than I. Note that, so far, he hasn’t said a word. He’s thinking hard, plotting our next caper. Or, maybe, he’s just meditating in his cardboard box. He does that.”

So, listen, we like you. We’re soft, we’re friendly, we’re well-mannered. And we really prefer indoors. We have met outdoors, and we don’t like it. We like you. Do you like us? Would you like to adopt us? We’d like to be adopted! Yes. Adopt us together for only $220. And if we do hold up the stagecoach, we’ll share our loot with you.
