I am trying really hard to be a fearsome jungle beast. I don't think it's working very well. I've done a lot of hissing. I've been showing off my fangs - for which I paid good currency to a saber-tooth tiger - and all I get around here is, "Ohh, pretty kitty. Nice kitty." I'm beginning to think that, perhaps, I really am a nice kitty. Uh, oh.

It is true that I have a rather handsome tabby face. I sneaked a peek at myself in the glass door. I was hoping to flirt with a young lady sassing around on the other side of the door, but she ignored me. Hmmph! I hear from a neighboring cat - she's much too shy for me - but we talk - that I have an interesting pattern - like crop circles - on my hips. How about that? Perhaps I've consorted with aliens - do you think? Perhaps I am not a fearsome jungle beast at all but a peaceful emissary from another world - one who needs a home with fine people to do his work. A gentle, peaceful emissary - maybe I don't need to hiss after all. Hmmm.

Come to think of it, I don't really know what a jungle is. I know what a beast is - anyone who roars. But my roar comes out "haaaiissss", and it's not at all loud. How would I know a jungle? I once had a home, then ended up on the prairie, then found myself a reasonably warm barn. Then I came here to Feline Rescue. I've never even been to the zoo, much less the jungle. Enough with this roaring beast stuff - let's find me a special home. I'll do the nice purring kitty scene - because, truth be told, I get better food that way. And wouldn't you know... I figured out that human laps are a very comforting place to hang out. Aha! Please bring $100 to pay my tab for that good food - and take me to your space (and lap). It's OK if you're an alien from another world - as long as you're gentle and peaceful.

PS: I currently reside at THE SHELTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
