Baxter needs a new home!   Please email  fionadonahoe@gmail.com  if you are interested.  Here is his story:.

Baxter was found as a stray and was given to me by a family member.  He was 4 months old, skinny and dirty.  He had worms and such terrible ear mites that it took three trips to the vet to take care of them.  Despite his health he still talked my ear off and wanted to snuggle as much as possible.

Now, 6 years later, he is a big, energetic and friendly boy who loves to play and loves people.  I call him a “dog” kitty.  He’ll greet you when you come home and beg you not to leave when you go out.  He is very verbal and will talk your ear off.  He is very adaptable to new environments and not a stranger to other cats…he lived with another cat for 5 years. He has never been around dogs but I’m sure with time he’d be just fine and would welcome a new friend.  He has lived in an apartment his whole life and is definitely an inside cat.  He also has all his claws and it is important to me that is stays that way.

Since my divorce my life had gone in a different direction.  I am not home as much as I used to be and Baxter needs a lot of attention and affection that I just can’t give him.  I also started dating a man who is very allergic to cats.  We are moving in together and Baxter can’t come with us.  We have tried everything…air purifiers…allergy fabric sprays…anti-allergy polish…I clean…I dust AND brush Baxter but even with all that, my boyfriend can’t be in my apartment for more than a couple of days.  It breaks my heart but I know that there is a loving family who can give Baxter more than I can.  I will never put him in shelter so I am working hard to find him a suitable family.

Please email me at fionadonahoe@gmail.com if you are interested or have further questions.

NOTE: In the interest of serving as many cats as possible, Feline Rescue occasionally promotes cats being taken care of by our friends and supporters. The cat(s) in this posting are NOT Feline Rescue cats and any adoption that may occur is an arrangement strictly between two independent parties.
