“Howdy, howdy! I’d say I’m more of a cowboy than a bear. Oh, I’m at least as soft and good to hold as a teddy bear, but the thing is I prefer to model my self for Teddy Roosevelt rather than a stuffed toy. See, Teddy Roosevelt liked to explore and go on adventures – certainly my style – even though I have no front claws with which to defend myself from something that might not want to be adventured upon.”
“I’m a very tabby fellow with a very tabby tail. It’s long and full and so nicely striped. It’s as soft as the rest of me which is mighty soft. In fact, I, Teddy – whole cat, am long and full and nicely striped – and mighty soft. But I repeat myself.”
“Let’s discuss this room. I’ve been exploring. I’ve found munchies, odd fake mice with missing ears, and two black gentlemen who pretend I’m not here. I’ve also found two windows, and I’ve been having fun with them. Did you notice my pictures? I found another me! I’ve been cloned. I’ve been scanned! Two Teddys! Ho! And that other window? Know what’s over there? Why, the cutest little calico girl you ever did see. Wouldn’t mind riding off into the sunset with her, no, sirree.”
“Let’s discuss me. I’m a mover and a shaker. Explorers don’t slow down. Watch me pad my exquisite, if clawless, lion-colored feet all around, around. I pad. I see. I learn. I also stop long enough to nuzzle you. I nuzzle people whenever I can. People like it. I like people. Now, if you would just pick up that feathery thing and swish it around a bit….Yeehaw! Teddy is a cowboy – told you so! I like the feather thing. I like all feather things – and I love people who play feathers with me. Wooo!
“So, let’s get down to business, shall we? It’s what Teddy Roosevelt would do. He said, “Walk softly and carry a big stick.” I say, “Walk softly and carry proudly a big tail.” I do it. All you have to do is show up here at Feline Rescue with $120, and we’re off on our private adventures. If you bring me my own feather toy, I’ll love you even more. Meow!”
