Solid Sensible Fellow

“Arow? Aroow? Oscar here, speaking to you, asking for attention, asking to be noticed and appreciated. Arow? I am a solid sensible fellow – not necessarily a pure gentleman – but I don’t have issues. I also don’t have claws – which may be good for people but which is not so good for cats. Arow? Come talk to me; it gets lonely here for a sociable cat.”

“What’s the most interesting thing about me? I’d have to say it’s my color. At first glance, people say, ‘Oh, another orange tabby with white feet.’ Then they look again, and they say, ‘Wait a minute, he’s not orange, he’s red, sort of maroon!’ Then the other person says, ‘No, look, he’s actually grey with wine undertones!’ The best I can tell you is that you should just come over and see for yourself. We can get sociable and have a conversation. Then I’ll tell you myself that I’ve decided that I just walked out of an old photograph – and that I am sepia-toned – but have white feet.”  

“Let’s get the stereotypes out of the way. I’m not a grouch, and I don’t live in a garbage can. Also, I am a lone and single cat, not half of an odd couple. I am just Oscar – solid sensible, all four feet on the ground, Oscar.”  

“I explore things. I play, and I rumble around. I also take inventory and keep the books. Do you know that, to date, 427 cats, both men and women, have left their marks and messages on the molding in that little bathroom? I spent a lot of time counting them up. Impressive. Clearly a feline-approved establishment.  But why can’t we drink out of the toilet?”

“You know what I think? I think you should adopt me. I’ll be happy to take inventory in your bathroom(s). I’m your guy if you’ll have me. Bring $120, that’s all. You’ll be able to tell people that you have a Oscar. And an Oscar is a very nice thing to have!
