About Paddy Murphy | |

“Hey, hey – stop all that talking and notice me. I am Paddy Murphy, a fine black cat with a hint of Irish, and I’m friendly and playful and like nothing better than to be the center of attention. That’s good! That’s right! Notice me. I roll on this blankie, and I put my fine black legs – all four of them – around your arm. And now I laugh! I am Paddy Murphy, and I am looking for a good time.”
“People tell me the original Paddy Murphy was a Chicago gangster. And that may be true. But I’m no gangster. A life of crime is too much work – running and hiding and fencing the goods. I prefer running and hiding to amuse and entertain me. Of course, I’m not hard to amuse and entertain….”
“Sure, you can hold me and pet me and let me walk on you. I love people. I love people attention. I love people who give me toys and food. I guess you could say I’m easy.”
“Say, did you notice these eyes? All sparkly green-blue and looking straight at you? Am I cute or what? What about my ears? I have cute ears – very cute ears. Some stuffy person without imagination might say my ears somehow were frostbitten. But, c’mon now, would I be nearly as cute without these ears? They go with my quirky, adorable personality.”
“And I say it was not frostbite at all. I paid an expensive plastic surgeon good cat money to style my ears this way so as to charm you into adopting me. Sure, I could have had The Grateful Dead tattooed on my tail instead – but, really, would you like that?”
“Let’s do it. Let’s form our own band of wonderful quirkiness and gallop off to your place and become best buddy pals and sit around and sing good Irish songs like the one about Paddy and the bricks. You know the one: “Dear Sir I write this note to inform you of my plight, And at the time of writing I am not a pretty sight, My body is all black and blue, my face a deathly gray, I write this note to tell why Paddy's not at work today.” Ah, but Paddy Murphy is at Feline Rescue, and, for just $120, he’ll go home with you.
If you'd like to know more about me, just stop in at the Adoption Center to meet me or leave a message for my secretary at 651-642-5900 ext. 3. She'll call you back .
