Touch of Tabby, Touch of Siamese

“Hello. Good afternoon. I am a handsome fellow with a touch of tabbiness and a touch of Siamese. I call myself Akasaka, for a neighborhood in Tokyo, where I’ve certainly never been – or, maybe, for someone’s favorite Japanese restaurant. As a Cat, I’d be quite happy with my own Japanese restaurant – supervising daily deliveries of fresh fish – and not saying how much of it would ever become sushi for humans….”

“I prefer surroundings – enclosures, walls, and such. I am not fond of wide open spaces where someone or something might sneak up on me. I like corners, boxes, and deep down under the bed. Also, perhaps, a nice cat-sized cupboard – or just a well-designed cat hut, a cat house, just my size and shape.”

“I’m a gentle fellow, pretty quiet and well-mannered – my Siamese side seldom shows with yelling and drama. Of course, if you really want drama, I could try. But, fundamentally, I’m a bit shy, very soft for petting, and I am a watcher. I watch motion. I am watching you. I watch other cats. I watch everything. Then I write down in my journal everything I see. I am Akasaka with a touch of tabbiness.”

“While I’m watching, pay attention. Yes, I have been to Area 51 and also to Roswell. And all the humans who claim they’ve seen a being from a another planet – one with big eyes, a pink nose, and a mostly white face – well, they saw Akasaka, that’s who. Am I from another planet? When you adopt me, you get to decide. I am certainly an interesting fellow. I have looked out the window – and I do not see a space craft in the parking lot.”

“Trust that I am a handsome Cat Fellow with a Japanese name and a fondness for fish. I would like to learn to trust people. You could help. You could adopt me. For $120 you can tell everyone that The Alien now lives at your house – and looks just like a tabby Siamese!”
