“Hi. I’m the quiet one in this room full of rapscallions. Oh, they bounce and pounce and sail around and tweak each other’s tails. I just sit quietly – next to the food, of course – and watch. They’re the performers. I’m the audience. Every good performing troupe needs an audience. I’m it – a sweet, calm white and black girl. I think some of these wild ones are my sisters and brothers, but no matter. I’m just watching and purring – and hoping you, fine human, will notice me.”
“I think I’m called Spot because – guess what? – I have spots. Now isn’t that imaginative! As soon as you adopt me, I’ll tell you what my real name is. For now, I’m keeping it a secret – wouldn’t want these pouncers and tweakers to be jealous, you know. In the meantime, please sit here with me and watch the fun. Well, they are fun. While you’re watching, just scratch my little girl head – gently, please – and admire my poise and presence.”
“I understand I’m about 6 months old, so I’m not very big yet. But I’m working on it. If you adopt me and take me home and feed me good food, pretty soon, you’ll have yourself a real live genuine full-size cat! So I say, because, for now, I am called Spot, and I always tell the truth.
“Are you thinking about adopting me? Keep thinking! Think more! Let me put my little black and white paws on your arm. Hear me, ‘I think I love you.’ Of course you may cuddle me. I’d like that very much….
….Aaah! One of them just flew over me. One of them just flew over you. Let’s do it. Let’s go home. Adopt me – just $120. I’m Temporary Spot – but we’ll find out who I really am at your place.”
PS: If you'd like to know more about me, just stop in at the Adoption Center to meet me or leave a message for my secretary at 651-642-5900 ext. 3. She'll call you back.
