“Come in, come in! I am young, small, sweet as can be, and I jump and play. I purr seriously. I am also seriously black with smart, attentive yellow eyes. I’m having fun – are you having fun? I jump in your lap and say again, ‘ Hi, there! Come in! I’m Haley! You’re cute! I’m cute! Let’s play!”
“Could you get that feather toy out of there for me? I’m not quite big enough to get it for myself. It would be just cool if we could play with it. Oh, goody! I’m here in this special room because, alas, I somehow caught the FLV when I was out on my own. Actually, I say it caught me. I only caught flies and moths and some mice. I’m a healthy, happy girl, and I can bounce and jump and purr and tell stories just like any other cat. I just can’t live with other cats who haven’t been caught by it. This white fellow with whom I’m rooming – he got caught, too. He’s an OK guy – we might start up our own band!”
“Let’s play with the feather toy! The purple feathers look so pretty in my little black face with my big yellow eyes. Chomp! I got it! More!”
“I’d like to be serious for just a moment. People need to learn what cats have always known. First, “do unto to others as you would have others do unto you.” Some two-legged creatures – I guess they were supposedly people – tried to kill me! They poured gasoline on me and were about to light it when a mail carrier saw them and rescued me, took me to a veterinarian who got me safely here. People, those two-legged were laughing – they thought it funny. Something very wrong with creatures like that. Very wrong.”
“Learn something else from us felines. Haley is happy. Haley is living her life. Haley is playing and jumping and purring and hoping for a great forever home. Cats don’t bother to worry about forgiving. We know sick and evil when we see it. We know we have our own joy to take care of and that no creatures can burn it. I feel good to be Haley. I feel good to jump. I will feel even better if you’ll adopt me as your forever cat and play feathers with me every day. $120 for my sweet, purring, playing little black self.”
If you'd like to know more about me, just stop in at the Adoption Center to meet me or leave a message for my secretary at 651-642-5900 ext. 3. She'll call you back.
