“Hello, hello! With my tortie patchwork coat, I suppose you know where I got my name. Yes, I reflect the many patterned colors of the harlequin, a comic figure from Italian theater. I might entertain you with some antics if you offer me a noisy toy that’s as colorful as I am . But I think I am not so much theatrical as I am just plain charming, alert, friendly, and very well-mannered.”

“So, hello again! I am Harlequin, and I’m a lady. I walk with dainty dignity. I’m told I have dainty feet – good for not stepping in my water bowl or on my own tail. No, I do not own a floppy hat with bells and tassels. If I had one, I wouldn’t wear it. I would roll around with it and kick it, though. Isn’t that what a cat should do? Same for those pointy-toed harlequin shoes – toss them up in the air! Catch them in my mouth! Giggle.”

“My favorite things? Munchies and people who love me. I like munchies so much that I chortle while I eat them. Now, people who love me? Well, I’m looking for you. When I find you, I think I’ll chortle. No, of course I won’t eat you – that’s what munchies are for. Why don’t I have people who love me? I wish I knew. I once thought I had some, but they moved away and left me. Maybe they just forgot….”

“How about one more ‘hello!’? I’m thinking that, if you notice me, you’ll love me – pretty round face, smart eyes, sweet soul, good heart, black whiskers, and a slight scent of munchy on my chin. Ooops! Mostly I’m quiet – unless I’m chortling. I’m old enough to know myself and young enough to have a good time. Would you like to have a good time with a decorative and loving tortie lady? Very easy to do. Just come over to Feline Rescue with $120 and off we go – just in time for some jingle bell toys for me!
