Trust Me - I Am Your Leader

“When the aliens land and ask, ‘Take me to your leader,’ just bring them here, right to Samari. I am your leader. Oh, you may think you’re seeing a white cat with a lot of black spots – and you are. But I am your leader. Trust me – whatever I may tell you to do, you will be wanting to do it. Like bring me food, play with me, let me borrow your phone to call my cousin in Iowa.”

“Greetings to you, I did, yes, come here from Iowa. Why? To find you, of course – my forever people, my fine people, my followers. I’ve got over 400 followers on my Twitter account, but none of them have adopted me so far. Perhaps you’re the one?”

“I’m a strong fellow, very self-assured, very self-directed. Also very appreciative of affection and attention from my human friends – my human family. I’m told that my name, Samari, means strong. Someone else said, “No, it means freedom.” I asked them, “In what language?” They didn’t know. So I’ve arbitrarily decided that it’s a Cat Word – and that it means Me. Just call, ‘Samari, Samari….’ and I will roll over, give you a nuzzle, and purr.”

“I’ve lost my front claws, and I’m told that I was found with an old collar embedded in my neck. So I guess I once had a human family. But, clearly, it wasn’t a very good one. Good families don’t declaw their cats; they also don’t lose them. And I was lost! Not now. I am here. I am happy and purposeful and looking for fine people whom I can lead and manage and persuade to spoil me rotten.”

“People, here we have an excellent executive cat – me – Samari – ready to lead and manage by persuasion, not claw. I will enhance your life. I may even entertain you. I tell you, too, that I am charming. I will charm the aliens right back to their own planet. My black spots will charm you. How about $120? Take me home and follow me. I am Samari, excellent executive cat.”
