“We’re mother and son. And, guess what? We play games! Woo and whee! We play games. We are both as tabby as tabby can be, except Monopoly – she’s my mom – has white places – and I, Scrabble, have ocelot spots. Maybe I’ll grow up to be an ocelot! Right now, I’m a wild and crazy house kitten – just what you’d expect of a teenaged, 6 months old, happy terror! Wee-oo!”
“Let me tell you about my son. I call him Scrabble because that’s what he does. He scrabbles and scrambles and chases his own tail. Oh, my – and I’m his mother. We love each other very much. We wash each other and sleep together and, sometimes, like any good mother, I need to give him a swat and say, ‘Settle down, kid – we’re not going to get a good forever home if you keep doing that!’”
“We are friendly, lovable, charming, and very clean with all that washing. Let me warn you, though, that Scrabble climbs people. Oh, he won’t hurt you – he likes you a lot – but he does have little needle kitten claws. Ouch!”
“Of course I climb you. Then I sit on your shoulder and launch myself across the room and scare the bejeebers out of that sassy tabby chick who looks a lot like me! Woo-hoo-hoo, Lola! Here I come. It’s me. I’m Scrabble, and we need to play games. Wee-oo!”
“Come visit us. We’re young – even mom is only about a year old. Daddy was a rolling stone, and he rolled right on down the road. We’re sweet. We play games. I pounce mom. Mom pounces me. Sometimes, we roll, too – all together now, right across the floor. But we’re not rolling stones. We’re ready to settle down in our forever home as house cats.”
“Good grief, Scrabble, what have you done? You’ve spread litter sand all over the basement! And you rolled in it, just like a silly dog, and now it’s all over your back! Our forever family is going to pass us right by when they see you. People, people – please hurry over and bring $235 and take us both home. Help me raise this young one right. He’s so loving and charming – but he’s a teenaged happy terror – with ocelot spots.”
