“Well, well – I am pleased to see that you’ve come to listen to me. I’ve become quite a handsome grey and white fellow since the days when I was called stray and skinny and even scruffy. Now you can see the potential that lives inside every feline. I’ve formed the Society for Cat Respect and Cats’ Rights. How’s that for a declaration that it’s time for people to appreciate and treat well – much better than they do now – those of us who have enough sense to walk on four legs and use tails for balance. You don’t see cats falling on their tushes now, do you.”

“Oh, oh – I’ve done it again, haven’t I? I’ve preached at you – silently – but you know you’ve been preached upon, don’t you? And you’re afraid that I’ll preach and, maybe, even yowl if you adopt me. Let me try this again.”

“I love people. I care about people. I want my special people in my young and furry life. I just know things I want you to know – like how fabulous we cats are – and how to just sit and be instead of doing, doing, doing all the time. Haven’t you noticed how cats can do that? I can meditate for hours by looking out the windows. I don’t move much. Oh, I’ll twitch my tail back and forth if I see a tasty bird or a nasty squirrel. But, mostly, I just think.”
