We are sisters, and we stick together like peanut butter and jelly.”

“I am Patsy, and I am the agent for our team. I do most of the talking, also most of the climbing on friendly humans who put shoulders where I can reach them. I also occasionally taste humans who seem friendly. I’m not biting you; I am tasting you. Tasting is important – I need to know that your flavor goes well with mine. Also, I taste a hint of cat treats on your paw. Would you have treated someone else recently? Would you like to treat us? (Hint…Hint…)”

“Sparkle, come over here a minute, and tell this tasty person about yourself.”

“Patsy, dear sis, you’re doing just fine without me. I’ve got my favorite corner of our bed, and you’re trying to trick me into moving. I know you. Tasty person, don’t believe much of what she tells you – except that her sister Sparkle is truly fabulous.”

“Say, person, do you remember Meeka? He was our brother – he climbed all the walls, flew like a Frisbee, and ran like a rabbit? Got himself adopted just before he wrecked the place? We’re not nearly so wild – but we do like to run and dive and hide and pounce. Of course we do – in our hearts, we’re still kittens. Perfectly matched tabby true hearts, looking for people to love – also to climb and taste.”
