Effie was found outside around 4-6 weeks of age near Uptown in Mpls. She was cared for indoors until her person's health issues led to homelessness. Effie was left alone in an apartment for a few days before she was able to be brought to a safe place. Despite her chaotic environment, Effie has developed a very trusting, friendly personality. She loves being around people.

Effie's foster mom usually fosters chihuahuas but made an exception for Effie. She would keep her permanently but has allergies. 
 
Over the last few months Effie has been a wonderful house guest. She has spurts of young-cat energy throughout the day but mostly sleeps (as cats will do). She always uses her litter box and eats at the same time twice a day. Her food is up high so she can be free-fed (as she never finishes her meal).
 
In a new environment Effie hides for a couple days, but once she is comfortable in a home she is a friendly host, meeting people at the door and asking strangers to pet her. She is currently learning tricks like "sit". She is a fast learner!   She is not the most coordinated cat and has fallen out of a window before, so she would need a place where the windows were secure. Although she is amazingly chihuahua tolerant, she has never been cat tested.

Effie has free roam of the house during the day and night and tends to sleep through the night in the guest room. She would probably like to sleep with her person instead. She likes toys and she follows her foster mom into the shower a lot. 

Effie is just the perfect young friendly tolerant kitty for a home that wants a little cuddly girl cat. 

She is micro-chipped, up to date on shots, spayed, fiv/flv negative, and she is not declawed.
