“Brrrp? Play with me? I’m Zelda, and I’m hoping you’ll let me romp and ramble and jump in your lap. I know – I look like a tiny tabby kitten, but guess what? I was a mom – a teenage mom – and, no doubt, unwed. But this tiny, spunky woman had six babies. Yes, six little ones, and I surely raised them well. I watched them leave one by one, two by two, and head for their own homes. I tell you true – I miss them. I had great little children, and we played and played. Now I’m seeking playful humans for my own!”

“At heart, I’m still a party girl. I guess I’m a hot mama – all fine silver tabby stripes – and a lot of bouncing and dancing. Salsa dancing, that was my thing, my party thing. Do you dance? Want to dance with me? Oh, I dance on the floor, dance on the walls, dance on the ceiling if I could. But I’ll sit in your lap and purr, too. And I’m so small that, even if your lap is small, I’ll fit. And if it’s not, well, I’ll still fit.”

“I know – you don’t have to ask if I’m friendly. Who jumped right down and greeted you when you walked in? That’s right, Zelda, friendly, energetic, charming silver tabby Zelda with a clay-colored nose. I’ve carefully explored everything in this room, including my roommate. It all passed inspection – and passing Zelda inspection is hard to do. If it’s edible, I’ll likely eat it.”

“I’m spunky and sassy and friendly and sweet. And I raised six fine children, and I’m ready for my home. Offer me a home. Offer me a lap. Offer me the new territory of your place to explore. Oh, and some good food and some toys. I’m a hot mama, and, for $120, I will come home with you and spread my charm throughout your life. Zelda, zesty one! For you!”
