Well-dressed, Well-mannered gentleman With Four Freckles

“Good afternoon! I am Tomás, a gentleman, a caballero, a gaucho of the Argentine pampas. Well, OK, actually I am a fine and beautiful tabby cat, but I am a gentleman, and I dream of stalking pink fairy armadillos in tall grass….really. Very Argentino, I think. I am handsome, kind, seldom rattled or ruffled by anything. Come sit with me, sip some yerba mate, and listen to my stories.”

“I’d like to have more stories, but I’m not all that old, so I’m hoping to move in with you and write myself more stories, with you in them, of course. I am soft, so soft you won’t want to stop petting me, a very soothing thing for me and you. Try it! See how cute I am. Notice my perfect freckles – two on each side of my nose – well-placed, well-drawn, very tabby. A well-dressed and well-mannered gentleman, Tomás!”

“Yes, I purr. I purr a lot. And remember what I said about something Argentino in my lives? Yes, I purr in Spanish – not sure how you can be sure, but I do. I think I would like to take a nap in your lap. Nap in a lap – good cat poetry – even rhymes. How about it? Offer me a lap? I’ll purr in Spanish while I nap.”

“I am here to charm and flatter you. It is what we Argentino gentlemen do. I am Tomás. I am a miniature tiger. Look at my colors, look at my stripes – don’t you think these legs look like tiger legs? I think so. I’m wonderful, but I don’t eat nearly as much as a standard tiger. I just sit proudly and serenely and look tiger while I flatter you with my totally nice thoughts and stories. Say, have you noticed if tigers have freckles? I think they must.”

“How about you adopt me – just $120 for a tiger gentleman – and we’ll google pictures of tigers and see if they have freckles? I have freckles, and I purr in Spanish, and I am the softest, the very softest. Tomás!”
