About Smithers

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Cat
  • Rescue ID: Outreach_Smithers
Smithers is Mr. Photogenic.  He loooooves to pose for the camera!  He’ll be right there when you have spaces to fill in the latest scrapbook.  And he’ll be the perfect subject for all your future Christmas card photos.

It helps to have 2 people for Smithers’ photography sessions cuz he’ll want to be on somebody’s lap (which makes it difficult to take pictures from different angles – you might want someone else available to push the button).  Candid shots are easy though – if you can sneak up on him – cuz Smithers doesn’t have a “bad side.”

Action shots?  No problem!  Smithers isn’t even a year old, so he has tons of energy!  Of course all cats like to nap sometimes, but just slip him a little bit of catnip & stand back!

This is a kitty with a lot of other talents, too.  Purring is a specialty, so he’ll be a great addition to your glee club.  And you’ll want him at all your Halloween parties since he’s already dressed with those cute harlequin diamond-pattern “tights.”

Smithers knows he has a lot going for him, which is probably why he’d like to be the Top Cat at his forever home.  Before he came to his foster home, he lived with a lot of other cats – "way too many" other cats!  Right now he just shares space with little-girl-foster-kitties but they always seem to take away his toys & send him to the corner for “time-outs.”  So actually, if he was the Only Cat it wouldn’t particularly bother him; besides, he knows where to form his attachments (that would be the operator of the can-opener).

And speaking of can-openers, Smithers performs best when he has really high-test (i.e., “quality”) food.  Not only will this keep up his strength & endurance for those late-night and early-morning exercises, Smithers needs the extra boost to his immune system.  At some point he was, unfortunately, exposed to feline leukemia. There’s no getting rid of it, but the show must go on after-all.  So you’ll want to watch to make sure he doesn’t come down with a “bug” or “owie” that could turn into something more serious.  Smithers will have all your attention anyway, right?

If you’d like to interrupt a current photo-shoot to meet him, just call Molly at (651) 295-3758
