“Ajua! I borrowed this word from an old Prairie Home Companion show. Ajua! It means I’m announcing my presence, the presence of Tabasco the Cat! Me! Ahua! I wouldn’t call myself Habanero, probably more a Poblano, but my handsome young cat guy face is, indeed, about the right red color for a very excellent bowl of chili. And Tabasco is excellent for chili and fall weather and football. And here I am, just waiting for you to adopt me! Ajua!”
“I’m a young fellow, a bit of a sassy teenager, also brassy and foolhardy. I challenged that guy over there with the mustache face. He’s bigger and older, and I gave him a swipe. Guess who ended up orange tush down in the water bowl. Well, at least I let him know that I’m here. Now I suppose I’d better wash my face.”
“I’m letting you know that I’m here, too – hoping that you’ll find me entertaining, amusing, and so charming that you’ll take me home. I just love to leap at those feather toys. Ooh, I do. I hope you have high ceilings because I leap really high. See? Boiinng!! I have really long legs into which I’m growing the rest of my fine deep red, orange-striped, and sometimes white self. Boiinng!”
“I love people. I’m friendly, but I don’t sit still very often. I might jump in your lap, but I’ll also jump back out. I’m feisty, active, and – don’t say it – but I’m cute. I do teenage boy cat things. I am entertaining. I am Tabasco, not Tim, and definitely not Timmy. I’m a people person – I mean People Cat – and I have presence, purpose, and determination. Do this for me: come visit me, here in the front room at Feline Rescue. Bring $120, and these humans will let me go home with you. And we’ll all be happy. Really! Ajua!”
