Purrs, Meows, Eats Heartily - All At Once

“Mrroww! Mrroww! Moww! And also hello! And hi! I am Hawthorn – and proud to be Hawthorn. I am a peachy tabby and proud to be a peachy tabby, too. I say I am the only cat you’ll ever meet who can purr, meow, and eat heartily all at the same time. ‘Friendly’ really doesn’t do me justice. Affectionate, adorable, charming – well, that’s a start!”

“Mroowwrrrr….That’s one of my special purrs – just for you. Actually, I make soundtracks for animated films. When the lions purr in The Lion King, guess who is doing the sound. I am Hawthorn, and I am as fine, fabulous, and adorable as any being might ever be.

“In one of my previous lives, someone wrote about me, ‘Hawthorn was a man of mark in his community.’ In that life, I came all the way from Ireland – Scots-Irish, so they say. My mama died, and I, ‘with my money in my pocket and my other belongings in a bundle that I flung with a stick over my shoulder, I started on foot for the west to find my fortune.’ I say this is true. In this life, I may have come only all the way from the east side of Saint Paul. But I made this trip just to find you – my favorite and forever people. I’d like to be a ‘man of mark in your community!’”

“No, sorry, I generally don’t stop purring. I surely don’t stop purring when I see a fine human who might be bringing me food. Now, food, that is something worth discussing. Wet food, dry food, treats in my bowl. Treats spilled on the floor by a snipe, oh, yeah – food is good. Mrrowwwrrrr.”

“Pet me, hold me, let me walk around and around your ankles. Goodness, you’re furless. We can’t have that. I put some nice soft peachy fur all around your ankles. I am very good at this. If you’ll hand me that food, I’ll eat it. Mrrowwrrrr….See? I told you I could eat and purr and meow all at once. It’s my talent. I say I am just about the sweetest, kindest cat you’ll ever meet. I’m also a happy guy. Mrrowwrrrr….
