“Greetings, fine people! I am Heimdal, proudly named for the Norse deity Heimdallr. Why? Well, they say that he possesses ‘foreknowledge, keen eyesight and hearing’ – and, you know, I think I do! Of course, they also say that he is ‘the whitest of the gods’ – and white I am not.  Most of me is actually black. I do have some white parts that rather look as though my tuxedo went to a wild party. Hey, maybe it did!”

“I say I am big, handsome, kind, mellow, and quite friendly. I am, indeed, dignified and semi-godlike, but I don’t need to be worshipped. I do need to be combed. I’m pretty sure I was living outdoors until I came to Feline Rescue, and I grew me some serious winter fur. The young, wild, one-eyed guy – calls himself Pirate – has been helping me remove some of the fur. True. Parts of Heimdal all over this room. Folks know I was here. When you adopt me and comb me, I’ll become the most handsome – and much lighter weight cat. True.”

“I love people, especially people who pet me and brush me and bring me food. I rub ankles. Want some fur trimmed socks? Heimdal can do it. Want some big cat love? Heimdal can do that, too. I purr a lot. I purr when you pet me, and I purr when you hug me. Purrrrr….I lie down, stretch out, and show you my white belly spots. Also my very fine, well-defined, wey white feet! Feet! I like my feet. I like your feet!”
