“Guid efternuin, Nice tae meit ye! You bet I’m a Scot and proud to be so, I am. Did ye ever meet a guy named Angus who was neither a Scot nor a big black bull? Of course, ye haven’t. And here I am, Angus, a Guy’s Guy, a Dude’s Dude – and definitely a big orange tabby cat – no Bull!”

“Can you tell I’m a friendly fellow? Let me show you how friendly. I walk around you. I rub your legs – that means I trust you – really. If you want to pick me up and give me a hug, you can. I’m huggable, pettable, and a lap cat if your lap is big enough. I’m pretty young, maybe 1 or 2 years, but I am full-grown – yes I am. Probably, you can even carry me around, but I weigh a few pounds – not fat – just solid – so don’t hurt your back! I give your ear a snuzzle – that’s Angus charm, yes!”

“What? Do I play the bagpipes? Would you like me to? I guess I could. But I’m a big fella; I think I’d look pretty silly in a kilt, especially in a clan tartan. I think a kilt would make my tail look big, don’t you? Listen, it’s enough to be a Scot. I don’t need to dress up and pretend to be what someone thinks I ought to be. I am Me – Angus – and a fine and friendly cat, too.”

“Why don’t we go back to the hugging part? I like hugging. I also like “going around” and investigating. That’s what we cats call it – “going around” – much better than going up or going down. A Cat can see more when he “goes around”. Say, could you get me a handful of those crunchies? That other orange fellow over there ate all of mine – and his own, of course. Piggits! A piggit!”

“Let’s hug again – so nice tae meit ye! Did you perchance put $120 in your pocket, purse, or backpack? $120 for that nice person we call an adoption coordinator? See, if you did, why she’ll let you take me home. And we can hug and be friendly and eat food and “go around”. And, if you must, suppose we put the bagpipes on your iPod, so I don’t have to play them….”

If you'd like to know more about me, just stop in at the Adoption Center to meet me or leave a message for my human assistant at 651-642-5900 ext. 3. She'll call you back.
