“Hello, there! Pleased to meet you, pleased to see that you’re not a kitten in need of a mother! If you watch “CSI: Special Victims”, you know all about me, know that, up until recently, I’ve had a rough life. But I’m here. I’m a survivor, and I know the streets. I’m told I’m also remarkably pretty – very white, very tabby, well-marked – so they say.”
(News Bulletin: I just found out that Taylor Swift has a cat named Olivia Benson! Does that make me a celebrity, I hope?)
“I’m highly pettable and enjoy people love. It’s rather new to me. I have been a full-fledged Mom, and I prefer not to do that again. Oh, I loved my babies. But I gave birth to five, outdoors, and lived under somebody’s pool cover. Can you imagine!! But I did it. I raised them all well, and they have all gone to their own forever homes, thanks to Feline Rescue.”
“My babies grew up safely. I did it all. I was a Girl Scout troop leader and a PTA parent – served munchies for kitten kindergarten, did it all. I watched those little ones, taught them to play. I am solid, sweet, and still in charge of my own life. I am pure Mom Cat – except I don’t bake cookies, and I don’t own an apron. Can you imagine!!”
“In the streets, somehow, I acquired the FIV. That can happen when a girl is fending off rude and surly guys. Sometimes, a girl has to get up close and personal and tell them to leave her babies alone. I’m a healthy girl, still counting for nine lives on ten of my toes. I would like to live all nine of my lives indoors, with my forever people. I like people, other cats, and even dogs. Bring $120 to Feline Rescue, and we can do that! Give me a little more petting – and tell me I’m pretty!”
To meet me,please stop in at the Adoption Center or else leave a message for my human assistant at 651-642-5900; she'll return your call.
Olivia Benson is FIV+. Please note that FIV is nothing to fear. FIV+ cats can live with non-FIV cats without fear of contamination. She is safe around other cats (as long as they have a peaceful relationship). The only way this virus is transmitted is through a bite that breaks the skin. She cannot infect another cat through daily contact or saliva (from licking or drinking from the same water bowl).
