“YoYo! Yo! Yo! Hey there! Hey Ho! I am YoYo, a fine, friendly, dignified woman. I prefer being up high to being down low, and – despite the name, I don’t swing up, swing down, swing low. I just swing up – and stay here. The better to see you. The better to see the world. It is important to see the world.”
“I’m black and white, white and black, long and lean, lean and long. I am looking at you. I like looking at you. I hope you like looking at me. I think somebody just left me here. I think that wasn’t very nice, although it’s certainly better than being left outside. I have looked through the window at outside – and it is cold, nothing but cold. Sometimes, I see a bus go by, and people shiver into the bus. I never see any cats go into the bus.”
“I don’t have a lot to say, but I do have a lot to purr. Stand by me and listen. YoYo purrs. She purrs a lot so as to say I am so happy to be here and not there and not in that bus. I will play with toys if it amuses and entertains you. We cats know that one of our main roles in the universe is amusing humans. If no one amuses them, they get surly and stressed out. Can’t have that. No, we can’t.”
“People call me a tuxedo cat, but I’ll tell you, I certainly have gotten my bib and tucker all in a tangle with my bow tie. Am I wearing a mustache? Vaguely, but I’m certainly no Clark Gable – and, anyhow, I am a woman, not a guy. I say, above all, I am a Cat. A Cat is proud. A Cat is dignified. A Cat sits high, as high as she can sit. Sometimes, she surrounds herself with a box, so as to keep away whatever needs to be kept away.”
“OK, enough about me. How about you? Do you have a warm, loving home for a warm, loving cat? Do you have $120? Let’s talk business. YoYo business. Let’s stay warm!”
