“Hi, yes, I’m Benita, and I do hope you realize that you’re interrupting my nap. Still, I’m happy to be here where it’s warm enough for a girl to take a nap. I was out in the cold – which is pretty serious around here. I thank the animal control folks for bringing me indoors and for letting Feline Rescue know that a sweet, soft, black and white cat girl  - me – awaited Rescue.”

“The first thing you’ll notice, I suppose, is that I have the daintiest, most precise, neatest cat mustache ever. It’s not all over my face like some cats. It’s just right where it’s supposed be and pretty much symmetrical, too. Yes, I have a large vocabulary, especially for a sleepy cat girl. I also have admirable white feet, even one pretty much white leg – but the rest of me is black – and difficult to see in the dark.”

“I’m a happy, contented, cuddly girl and, yes, I am a dedicated napper. I’ve even won napping competitions. I had trophies and ribbons, but I must have left them at animal control. The place does need some decoration.”

“I suppose I should tell you about my name, right? I’m not Latina, as you might think, although my brothers were Che and Emiliano. But my sisters were Boudica and Joan of Arc. Yes, our mom named us for revolutionaries. I’m not sure why – nothing revolting about me, for sure. But my namesake was, indeed, Benito Juarez, famous for suggesting that the Spanish leave Mexico – right now! There you have it. All of it.”

“I’m looking for some good forever people who will pretend to worship me, won’t stage revolutions and ruffle my fur., and provide me with a special place for taking naps. I’d very much like for you to visit me at Feline Rescue. If you do, make sure you have $120 so the fine and friendly staff here will let me go home with you. Thank you for listening; I now return to my regularly scheduled nap. I am Benita.”

If you'd like to know more about me, just stop in at the Adoption Center to meet me or leave a message for my human assistant at 651-642-5900 ext. 3. She'll call you back.
