“Howdy! I’m a fine, young, grey tabby guy, and my momma named me for an elevator. I’d like to say I was named for Otis Redding, ‘cause I wouldn’t mind sitting on the dock of the bay watching fish swim by, but momma liked elevators. No, I don’t go up and down – unless I’m jumping just because. I think I’m about 1 or 2 years old. I had a person, but she just couldn’t take care of me any more. I said, ‘I could take care of me, but she said, ‘No, I don’t think so. I think you need to sit in the front room at Feline Rescue and get yourself a new person.”
“So – here I am. Are you my new person? I am serene, quiet, and very observant. I watch people. I watch all these other cats. Oh, my, do we have cats around here! I’m a dignified gentleman. You may think I’m shy because I sit softly in my box. I am rather shy, but I’m not scared. Well, maybe just a little when a big old bus roars up by our window, but not scared of you! Scratch my ears! See? Not at all scared.”
“My desires are simple: good food, warm bed, love, more good food, a few windows so I can see what’s out there without having to be out there. Oh, and one other thing, just because it matters to me. Please don’t call me Oats! The name is Otis – O – tis. Like the elevator guy. Like the singer. Oats is horse food. I am not horse food. I am a good, thoughtful cat guy who would like to curl up on your sofa and dream.”
“Grey tabby guy named for elevator man seeks good, excellent, warm home with people and food. Pretty simple, huh? If you’re a person or a family seeking more love, here is Otis. Offering grey tabby observations and occasional amusements. Bring $120 for my people friends at Feline Rescue.”
