“Good day to you! I am Lark. I sing the song of the Lark. I bring peace and joy and serenity. I am just about as tortie – short for tortoise shell – as a cat can be. Truthfully, I’m quite beautiful, but that’s not my reason for being. I call myself a meditation cat – a cat with whom you can meditate. Focus on the many colors of my sumptuous coat; drift into the zone, breathe deeply. Breathe deeply.”
“I’m a couple of years old, I think. I was doing what I was taught to do – following my bliss – when along came those animal control people. Fancy that they imagine that people can control me! A few dopey little dogs, maybe, but not Lark – never Lark. I believe I spent several years, possibly even lives, in a monastery with other women. I learned to be still and to see sacred spaces. I learned to meditate and be serene. I tried explaining this to the animal control people. They said, ‘We think you should go teach those cats at Feline Rescue to be calm and meditate.’”
“Truthfully, these cats, delightful folks I’m sure, are not interested in meditating with Lark. How about you? We can sit together and feel peace. Focus on my many colors; see and feel them in all the splendor. When we have reached our calmness, we can take another deep breath – and then have some tuna pie. How about it?”
“I am Lark. I am nice. I am a spirit guide. I am also an earthly cat, looking for a space to be, with people, even just one people, who love me. Spirit guides need love. Earthly cats need love. Come sit with me and breath. Bring $120 when you come to Feline Rescue. We will be serene and go home forever to your place.”
