“Of course, I’m a tabby – a Tab E. – is there any other kind of cat worth being? I think not. I am Tab E. Hunter and most pleased to be who I am. Moreover, regardless of what my sign says, I am not a “brown” tabby. Look at me – I am a blue-black tabby, and I am one handsome guy. I think I’m two to four years old, sleek, strong, and fond of people who stop by to scratch my head.”

“Animal control sent me here – guess I was out walking around doing things that cats aren’t allowed to do. Tab E. Hunter (and I am a Hunter) would like to explain to humans that cats are allowed to do whatever they want to do. Because they are cats.”

“I’m a friendly guy – a nice guy, too – with some royal sensitivities. Not that I am royalty, no, but I have lineage. Can’t say exactly what it is – because I don’t know – but I have it. ‘I love munchies, I love tea, I love people who sing to me…’ Did I just say that? Can you believe a truly Tab E. fellow would be so silly?”

“I thought about growing up to be a zebra. I have the stripes for it. The animal control folks said, ‘If you’re a zebra, then we’ll need to take you to the zoo. No one will adopt you and take you home if you’re a zebra.’ Talked me right out of that idea, they did. So I came here to look for you - my forever people who much prefer a Tab E. Cat to a zebra. Where are you?”

“I know – there’s another guy with stripes next door. He says he’s the film star, claims he knows Sophia Loren. Ha! Who has the film star name? Who has the style? The guy next door pokes his big feet into my suite – tries to poke me with them. Doesn’t seem very classy to me. Hmmph! I shall continue to look out the window and greet the passing people, especially ones that get off the bus. Out there somewhere are my forever people. They have $120, and they are waiting to love me.
