Tatenda is a quintessential low-maintenance lap cat. She likes nothing better than to sit on your lap and purr and knead while you're watching TV, surfing the Internet, or reading a book. Although she has no front claws, she also enjoys scratching a cardboard scratching post and occasionally likes to bat a toy mousie about the room. But really, for her, it's mostly about sitting in your lap, kneading your legs, and purring. Her foster caregiver has not yet reached the limit of Tatenda's desire to do this.

She had surgery a few months ago to repair a fractured hip and that has left her with a small limp. She jumps and moves about with no problem. She likes to have her head and chin scritched, but would prefer not to be picked up so much. Let her come to you, is her motto. Her fur is luxuriously soft. While she would prefer not to have the company of dogs and cats, she could grow used to it in time.
