I Am The Special One

“Yes, I am! I am the famous, the legendary, the one and only Manny of Manny, Moe, and Jack. Oh, sorry – you’re too young to know about us? Never heard our jingles on the radio? Oh, you don’t listen to radios? You have Spotify. I see.”

“Allow me to explain myself! First – and foremost – I am a young, special black and white tuxedo cat. I know – but you see lots of black and white cats at Feline Rescue. Just believe – I am the special one. I am Manny of Manny, Moe, and Jack – the Pep Boys. Earliest aftermarket auto parts company in the US. Almost 100 years old. Better known in Philadelphia and Los Angeles, but we have been seen in Minnesota. And, yes, they say my real name was Emanuel Rosenfeld. Personally, I like Manny better!”

“Allow me to tell you about my cat persona. I am sweet and quiet and very friendly. I will sit in your lap if I can get in it. Once I’m in, I’m staying in. I don’t fall out. I just wait to be petted. Inside, I’ll be smiling – sorry that you can’t see my smile because of my fur. But I am smiling. I might have been someone’s butler in a previous life. I certainly have the uniform. We could certainly discuss butler work if you’d like, but I’ll be honest. I’m not very good at mixing drinks – nor serving them. Not very good at the hors d’oeuvres, either. I’d rather eat them. But we could discuss it.”

“I’m also kind, and I like people who pet me. Petting feels good and keeps my fur shiny. Just do protect me from Lukas. He’s after my tail. I’d like to keep my tail. You could adopt my tail, and I’d come with it. That would be nice! That would be great! Manny would like to be adopted. The people said I should ask you to bring $120 – so I will. You’ll be happy! Me, too!”
