“Hello, hello! I am Lemon. I am soft and pretty and dignified. I believe firmly in naps. As soon as I finish telling my story here, I am going to take one. A nap. I am a lady, perhaps noble, perhaps not. I think I’m called Lemon because I do have a citrusy color to myself and I can’t spell Tangerine. Actually, I think I’m more Peachy than anything. Whatever color I may be, you may pet me, gently, of course.”
“T think I’m about 6 years old, and I remember that someone brought me here – to Feline Rescue – and left me – dumped me, so to speak. OK, better here than at the Goodwill or the server farm next door – or the tire warehouse. None of those establishments have good food! Tires are touch to chew!”
“I am waiting for spring. I hear it’s coming. I agree that my soft colors could be those of Easter eggs. But, actually, in other springs, I helped the Easter Bunny deliver the eggs! Didn’t break any, either. I look really nice with a basket of pastel eggs. I also am a nice woman – helped that bunny, didn’t eat him, didn’t eat his eggs.”
“I’m ready for my forever people. I once had some people; I know because someone removed my front claws. Hmph! But they weren’t my forever people. Love me, cuddle me, respect me. I know I’m pretty, with a dark peach ridge down my back. I won’t eat your Easter eggs – or jump on the Passover table. Don’t much like bitter herbs.”
“Forever people, stop by Feline Rescue, and pet me. Call me Tangerine or Peach if you prefer. But do bring $120 so the good folks here can care for the next homeless but beautiful cat like me.”
