“Hello! Hello! Come in, come in! I am Gavyn, and I love people. I am fluffy. I might be part Siberian or Norwegian Forest Cat.  Personally, I think I’m from Wales – doesn’t Gavyn sound Welsh to you? Celtic, for sure. I checked myself out. Gavyn means ‘white hawk’. I like that – ooh, yes. A hawk! I can soar! And I’m a girl – yes – a fluffy female I am. So I wasn’t named for Gavin Troy in Midsomer Murders ‘cause he’s a guy – and he doesn’t have a ‘y’.  So, anyway, did I mention that I’m fluffy – and that I like being fluffy?

“What I don’t especially like is other cats. Yes, I am a cat. Yes, I like myself – quite a lot, I do. But other cats, well, no. I enjoy having all my space to myself and to my people. I doubt I’d care for dogs, either. I fancy myself an ancient Celtic battle queen – like Boudicca - whose role is to challenge all fluffy four-legged pretenders to her throne. Even if they’re not fluffy – not in my kingdom thou shalt not dance and yowl!”

“Gavyn is, above all, a lady. When not fending off offending felines, which she only does when she has to, she sits quietly and proudly and decorates the place in which she sits. You will know that the level of beauty in your space has expanded when Gavyn arrives. One other little thing I don’t much like is people trying to rub my belly. Don’t do that. It’s my belly. Pet my head, scratch my neck, pet my back – all good.”

“So, is winter giving you cold feet? What you need is a fluffy Cat Woman with a Celtic name to sleep on your feet – keep them warm. First, put a soft blankie over your feet, invite Gavyn to sleep on them, maybe suggest that she purr. We’ll do well together! Just bring $120 to Feline Rescue and ask for Gavyn. I’ll be decorating a space with no pretenders in it.”
