This is Belle. We took her almost 4 years ago when she was about 6 months old; my friend had her and could not raise her. She's a lovely calico. She loves being read to, just like her namesake.
But we already have 2 cats and a dog, and she HATES sharing the home with other animals. I fell like I fail her every day. She has forgotten how to purr. She does not want to play anymore. S he fights with the other cats (the dog she likes fine). The only time she seems to be truly happy is when we lock up all the other animals and she has us all to herself.
That's no way to live. I swore I would never get rid of an animal for convenience, and I still would not. She'll always have a home with us if she needs it, and if she goes I will miss her. But if anyone has a good home where she would be the only cat (though I think a dog would be ok), I think her life would be much better (it really breaks my heart she can't remember how to purr).
