Though my name, Quartz, is a pretty common stone, I am a rare gem of a kitty. Upon first glance, you will notice my double layer thick coat with super pretty dilute tortoiseshell markings. It’s a lot to manage for a little kitten, and I might do best in a home where my future family feels comfortable spending time weekly brushing me so I don’t get matted — I hear those can HURT! I’m shy and reserved with people I am unfamiliar with; it took me almost a whole two months to warm up to my foster mom even though my siblings were telling me she was fun. I liked that she fed us a lot, and eventually I decided she was pretty neat. Please be understanding if I take awhile to get used to my new family too! I’m not very talkative except at mealtime.
When it comes to play time, I can tumble with the best of them! I will even play until I am panting trying to cool off. When that time comes, I like to find a human to snuggle up next to. One interesting facet of my personality is my confusing of social cues. I will give lots of kitty kisses, and then give some love nibbles! Because of this, my foster mom says I’ll do best in a home with someone who is cat savvy and with people who understand I just have a lot of love to give! I am also sometimes startled easily, and will hiss when scared, but it’s all bark and no bite. The second I am scooped up into someone’s arms, I turn into a little kitten puddle. I may do best going home with one of my siblings just to help build my trust and confidence in a new situation, but it’s not required, and my independence will make me a great only cat once I am comfortable in a new home. And I know I’m not supposed to say this on here, and don’t tell my brother or sisters, but I’m secretly our foster mom’s favorite.
