Shiny Sleek Demi-Goddess

“Come in! Come in! I’m full of energy. I’m ready to play. Yes, all those Mother’s Day cards are mine. Eight furry children! But they’re all grown up and off to their own homes, and Mom is taking back her childhood, and she is going to play. Yes!”

One or two looks and strokes of my exceptionally shiny black hair will tell you how I came to name myself for the Queen of the Nile. I suppose I could have been Bastet, but I’m not sure that it’s proper goddess behavior to chase balls, grab toys, jump up and jump down, and steal pens from humans. I don’t want to give up all that frivolity. I am Cleopatra, and I am so ready for my new life. Yes!

I am round and cuddly and quite friendly. I am a lot of fun. I like cat treats – maybe just a little too much – because I’ve not quite gotten my girlish figure back. But when I’m racing around your place, leading cheers, I’m sure I’ll still be cuddly but even more sleek. Sleek black cat – waiting for good home with people of any shape or color who want to play with me.

I look especially fine and beautiful when I’m sitting on something that’s turquoise – or something that’s red. Turquoise and red – Cleopatra’s colors. Now – my big secret – watch me roll over and reach my legs out for your foot. Aha! See them? Secret white spots on my belly! Maybe I’m a belly dancer – Egyptian name and all, you know.

C’mon! C’mon! Let’s play. Bring me treats. I purr. I do not sing loud, off-key camp songs like my roommate. I guess he can’t help it. Seems nice enough, but he can’t sing. I purr. Did I say that? I’m a cheerleader, a frivolous energetic almost-goddess, and I’m ready to live the youth I didn’t have. How about you just stop over here, bring $100, and take me home to play. The Queen of the Nile and her most shiny sleek self await you. Yes!
