“Oh, oh. Here comes another one of those humans who thinks we are cats! Sister dear – what makes them think we are cats? We have done such a good job of making ourselves look like cardboard boxes! See? The only things in here are cardboard boxes!”
“Well, lovely sweet girls, here’s what you forgot. Cardboard boxes do not have bright, glowing, smart and very yellow eyes. I see four alert yellow eyes – two in each box. Easy giveaway – two tortie girls inside two boxes – and missing nothing.”
And we tried so hard! OK – out we come. I am Trudy. I have a nice orange stripe right down my nose. This other sharp-eyed box is my sister Nonnie. See? There she is, out she comes. We’re quiet. We’re well-mannered, and we are as tortie as torties can be. We’re only 10 months old, but we don’t do crazy kitten hollering like some of these guys – and we do mean guys – around here. Do we chase glitter balls and fake flowered mice? Of course – we ARE cats.
We’ve been living in a great foster home since we were born. Our mom, Cleopatra, was – if you can believe it when you meet her – a “stray” cat. We have six brothers and sisters who have found their forever homes, so we’ve come here – where you can visit us, see how wonderful we are – and invite us to your place for now and forever.
We grew up fast. One has to do that when Mom is “stray”. She taught us to be cautious, to be well-mannered, and to be quiet so as not to attract anyone or anything that might do us harm. So we decided to make like tortoises and make shells out of the boxes. Torties pretending to be tortoises – cute, huh? And very smart. Which we are. With little furry hearts of gold and just waiting for people to love who love us back. Your $200 gets us into your life forever. How about it? We’re not sure if our box shells are included or not.
PS: I currently reside at THE ADOPTION CENTER (not in foster care). If you can't stop in but would like to know more about me, please call 651-642-5900, ext.3. Thanks!
