Hi everyone, it’s Maki here! I hear you scratching your head saying, I’ve heard of maki, but I don’t remember where! Well here’s where: maki is a type of sushi! Maki is what most people think of when they think of sushi. It’s the roll of rice and filling with a piece of nori around it. Another type of sushi you’ve probably heard of is nigiri, which is a ball of rice with a piece of fish on top. I don’t have a sibling named nigiri . . . well maybe I do, but I’ve never met him or her. I do, however, have siblings named Nori and Sashimi and they’re super great! Oh, was that your belly rumbling? Fine, I’ll quit talking about sushi and I’ll tell you more about myself. And I’m good at that because I’m a bubbly energetic kitty!
Like I just mentioned, I’m a kitty with a lot of energy! I absolutely love love love those ping pong balls! Me and my two siblings are really good at ping pong soccer. We’ll zoom around our room chasing after them as they slide across the floor. Sometimes we’ll even pass to each other. As I near the dresser, I’ll aim, aaaand score!! Oh darn, now the ping pong ball is stuck under the dresser. I guess I’ll just have to wait until foster mom comes to free the toys from under the dresser, but thankfully, there’s always so many good toys in here. I really like little catnip toys that I can bat around. One of my favorites is my mousey, but I’ll go for just about anything. Oh oh oh and the toys foster mom brings into the room for supervised (and extra fun) play are so fun! There are these small pieces of cardboard on the end of a wire and there’s also this long piece of fabric on the end of a stick. I’ll fly across the room after those, but sometimes they run onto the table and I haven’t quite mastered my jumping skills yet. But I’m working on that!
I’m also the best dancer. You know those hops that kittens do when they get excited? Like when they arch their backs and bounce around in a circle before plopping onto the ground on their backs? Well, I’m really good at that. When I’m playing with my mousey or another of my toys, I’ll do that hop. Sometimes, I’ll do it backwards. And I have this other favorite trick I do. I’ll casually walk over my toy, and then using my back paw, I’ll kick it backwards, and then whip around to tackle it to the ground. Then, I’ll lay around and kick it in the air, then chase it around the room. And I also do that thing where I go up on my back legs, reach for the sky and slam my toy into the ground. Yup, I got those mad skills. Oh yeah, and did I mention that I’m a kitty with a lot of energy?
When I’m not playing, which isn’t often, I’ll settle down to get petted. Somedays, I’ll sit in foster mom’s lap and let out my strong purr. One of my other unique things is my chatter. I’m not used to being picked up yet so when I do get picked up, I get surprised and let out this chatter noise. It sounds kind of like a bird or a squirrel or something. Everyone thinks it’s super cute. So, if you think you need a kitty pal with lots of energy, come pay me a visit! I’d love to be adopted with one of my siblings, Nori or Sashimi, but I’d also do well with any other young kitty that can put up with my crazy kitten energy.
Come visit me in my foster home. I'd love to meet you.
