Mroww, meow, mee-ow, mrrrr-owwww, mrow?  That’s me, Berry.  I love to talk!  I also relish attention and people!  Those things are what I need in life.  Windows and maybe a cat-companion (possibly one of my kittens), too.  My foster caregivers think that I may be part Siamese, or even Burmese.  I have the right body: very lean, with a pointy head and big ears.  But my personality is what really sets me apart.  Just like Siamese and Burmese cats, I am very affectionate, very social, and very vocal.  I use my voice to demand attention and I’m very active.  You won’t get me sitting still for very long unless it’s by a window.

Every time anybody comes into my room (visitors included), I will give hugs.  Hugs?  Yes, hugs.  Not only people give hugs.  I will reach up and put my paws on your shoulders and rub my face all over you.  I purr all the time when I’m being petted.  When I am let out of my room to explore the house, I will stop by for a few pettings, then will wander off.  I’m not a lap cat, though.  I won’t sit in your lap for hours at a time, like other cats.  But, come on . . . that’s really  boring.

I play, too.  My foster caregivers think I’m probably not that old; one year, at the most.  Feather-wand toys are really entertaining, and I can get in the Berry-craze mode.  I will run about the room with a wild look in my eyes, “attacking” any kittens in my path.  They get a big kick out of it.  I mean, how many Mamas actually play with their kittens?  I will zoom through tunnels in one pounce, roll on my back and look at you upside down.  I will knock over the scratching post and race around the room.  Like many other Mama cats, I let my kittens play with my tail.  I also put up with them jumping on me, or when my foster caregivers holds them on my back for piggy-back rides.

I will not do well in a house where I will be left alone for long periods of time.  I really need attention, so I’d do best in a home with activity and people that are home a good portion of the day.  That way, I can get the necessary affection that lets me thrive.  In an environment like that, I promise you I will stay in the spotlight.  Whenever you need a hug, I’ll be there.  Just don’t expect me to stay too long by your side because I have places to go.

Oh yeah, one last thing.  I have my own vocabulary of meows.  There’s a meow that means, “Pet me”, one that means, “Please let me out of this room”, one that means, “Milk time, kitties!”  and lots more.  Just spend a little time with me and you’ll hear them all.  Once I’ve been living with you for a while, you’ll get to know what each meow means!  You will have learned a new language: cat.  Congrats!

I bet you never thought I’d stop ranting on!  Well, if you need someone to talk to, just bring me home!  Since I get along so well with my kittens and have bonded very well with them, I would like to be adopted with one or two.  Blackberry and I, together, would be a great addition to your household.  He takes care of me by licking me clean just like I do to him!  He likes sitting up on the dresser next to me, enjoying the day.  Huckleberry would also be great, since he (along with Blackberry) is a big Mama’s boy.  He loves my affection and is usually the one who plays with me.  Goodbye for now!  Talk to you later when you visit me, okay?

Berry will need to go to a home where there is another young cat or be adopted with one of her kittens (check out Blackberry or Huckleberry) so that she has a playmate. For more information about Berry, please call Joan at 651-705-6264.

Berry's adoption fee is $120.
